TPX Energy (Access Points) are state of the art self contained multi frequency and protocol communications concentrators/ Gateway terminals powered by AC mains powered with battery backup or DC battery supply.

Each Access Point comes equipped with either a GSM, CDMA, G3 or satellite transmission modem and a 433 MHz, 900Mhz RFID reader 

Each Access Point is capable of monitoring 80-100 unique RFID sensors simultaneously or at periodic intervals. The main function of the RTU is to identify and verify faults, provide live monitoring then report; asset location and fault details instantly.

The Pinpoint configuration unit is a small battery powered interface device used to convey the required configuration data between TPX Energy Pinpoint PC based field programming application, the Pinpoint RTU and Pinpoint RFID sensors.

The Configuration unit has a standard USB interface connection to connect to the PC and a 433 or 900 MHz ISM band transceiver to communicate; assign and configure message alarm details to the Access Point and sensor units.

Pinpoint reactive sensors are TPX Energy advanced scalable active RFID (radio frequency identification) fault sensors. They offer a quantum leap over traditional remote sensing technologies and mark several new milestones in remote monitoring; deferred power storage, energy efficiency, endurance and machine to machine networking.

The proprietary and innovative technology offers 24/7 monitoring of remote events and assets without the need of power for up to 10+ years. Once activated they utilizes there small deferred power supply to send a coded identifying message to a listening TPX Access Point, where it is then relayed to TPX Distribution Automation asset and event routing engine for dispatch.

Today TPX Energy`s distribution automation systems can bring simple but extremely accurate fault and condition monitoring of 90% of all faults that accrue on the distribution grid; specifically the sudden irreversible faults on Fuses, cables, transformers and Insulators.
