The Telepathx Pinpoint fault locator system comprises of four separate components, The Pinpoint RTU, configuration unit, Telepathx Pinpoint or RFID licensed sensors and the Telepathx Mobile Network. Together they create dynamic autonomous wireless fault networks with the ability to provide event monitoring, fire mapping, fault notification and condition based monitoring of e thermal limit faults on virtually any mechanical or electrical asset; such as overhead power lines, insulators, transformers, generators cutout fuses and switching apparatus.
Pinpoint reduces electric distribution faults, fire ignitions and unplanned power outages simply by providing precise fault and event details.

The Pinpoint (RTU) Remote Transmission Unit is a state of the art self contained multi protocol communications terminal with its own power supply, SIM card reader, GSM/GPRS modem and 433 MHz ISM band transceiver. It is capable of monitoring 80-100 unique RFID sensors simultaneously or at periodic intervals. The main function of the RTU is to identify and verify faults, then report; asset location and fault details via SMS message instantly.

The Pinpoint configuration unit is a small battery powered interface device used to convey the required configuration data between Telepathx Pinpoint PC based application, the Pinpoint RTU and Pinpoint RFID sensors.
The Configuration unit has a standard USB interface connection to connect to the PC and a
433 MHz ISM band transceiver to communicate; assign and configure message alarm details to the RTU and sensor units.

Pinpoint thermal fault sensors are Telepathx advanced scalable active RFID (radio frequency identification) fault sensors. They offer a quantum leap over traditional remote sensing technologies and mark several new milestones in remote thermodynamic monitoring; deferred power storage, energy efficiency, endurance and machine to machine networking.
The proprietary and innovative technology offers 24/7 monitoring of remote assets without the need of power for up to 10+ years. Once activated it utilizes its small deferred power supply to send a coded identifying message to a listening Pinpoint RTU then activate two of its redundant alarms, a set of high intensity LED's and a failsafe reflective identifier that works for an indefinite period.

Powerful Neodymium (rare earth) magnets, and push on universal lock nut adaptors allow the Pinpoint sensors to be placed safely in hard to reach areas with minimal surface requirements. A flat metallic surface or a protruding nut or bolt is all that is needed to safely secure the sensors. A universal hot stick adaptor is available for energized line working. Cable adaptor accessories are expected to be released shortly.
